Upcoming California trip, new images, my new logo, photos for "The Wall", finished with the quarter, HDR with one image, my apartment and Wii!!

Upcoming California Trip
Well I have an exciting upcoming in just 2 days on the Saturday the 19th to Sunday the 27th of December. I'll be heading out to California to visit 3 different places! I'm going with Gabby to meet her Mom and family and I am excited! Not only because I am meeting Gabby's Mom for the first time, but because of the opportunity to shoot 3 different places for my portfolio! Tehachapi, California, Monterrey Beach in California, and San Francisco, California! I know that last one caught everyones eye. What an opportunity it is to be able to shoot in this beautiful historic city! I've been there before because I lived in Alameda, California for a year which is right outside of San Francisco. So away from the cold and snow and off to the sunny sandy beaches of California! YESS!!!!

New Images
Finally got to process some images since I've been so busy. One from the 16th St. Mall, on from the light rail station re shoot, and some from the Denver County Court Building.

My New Logo
So I had been messing around with different colors for my logo and I have finally decided on one. It's simple black white and Gray. Easy on the eyes and easy for print! The gray was recently a red color. Have also finished my website i just need to host it and get it live online! I'll let you know when i do!


Photos for the Wall
So i decided to submit 4 photos for "The Wall" this quarter, and it was a tough decision on choosing but decided on doing "Fremont Street" in Las Vegas, "Theater District Convention Center Station", Denver, "Tree Roots" in Garden of the Gods, and a diptych of 2 portraits of my dad.


Finished with the quarter
I'm wrapped up with the quarter now. I had 3 classes and i know at least in 2 of the classes I have A's so thats good! Good for my GPA since i graduate next quarter. That will be helpful!

HDR with one image/photo edit
I found a tutorial online on how to create an HDR using either Lightroom or Camera RAW in Photoshop. I created these in Camera RAW, and i was pleased the results. Here's the before and afters. I'd like to share my final method but that's for me to know and you to find out... Or create your own method!


Well that's about it for now. I won't be updating most likely until i get back from California next week.

35mm and Toy Camera

Scanned these shots in that i took a while back. Hope you enjoy them. I just shooting with a 35mm. It just brings me back to the old days and film, with no photoshop, and all this other digital mumbo jumbo. Not that i don't like digital but i just like to go back to the roots of photography and feel like a REAL photographer, and not one that just buys a digital camera and claims to be a photographer. I also love the hit and miss, and mysteriousness of my toy camera. It's actually a super sampler, and shoots the shot in 4 different colors.

Over the weekend..... Parade of Lights... Go Broncos!

Me and Gabby headed downtown on Saturday night to check out the Parade of Lights. It was a fun occasion if i must say, but cooolllddd! Of course i shot it hoping to get a possible shot for my portfolio. Checked out some floats, marching bands, and mascots. Got to see Rocky the mascot for the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Rockies mascot, The Denver Broncos mascot, the CU Buffs mascot and the Avalanche mascot. That brings me to sports. The Broncos crushed the Chiefs 44-13 and are now 8-4 and have a pretty good chance of at least making the playoffs, and hopefully winning their division!

All Moved In

Well got everything pretty much arranged in the new apartment, just got a few extra things to put away but besides that it feels like home now! I took some pictures of the inside of the apartment to show you guys my new space! Well me Gabby's and Sky's. : )

Thanksgiving, upcoming shoots, moving and good news for Broncos fans!

Thanksgiving, The Broncos, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Thanksgiving was fun! Went to my Aunts house and had a delicious dinner and desert. After dinner we watched the Broncos destroy the Giants 26-6 to go 7-4 and only a game behind the Chargers. After that we sang karaoke! I'll be uploading some pics of the occasion asap! My aunts husbands dad loved my husky Sky and took him for a few walks and enjoyed his company. He also had an interesting face so i got some shots of him, and hopefully they'll turn out well, so i can upload them to my website. As far as my website, it is in progress and like i said as soon as it is completed i will upload the link! This morning I also watched most of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I liked the movie but unfortunately i fell asleep during part of the movie and didn't see the whole movie.

Upcoming Shoots
A couple of days ago in downtown Denver they had the lighting of the Denver Courthouse. I watched it on TV and probably should have been there shooting but I was to busy watching the Broncos and gobbling down turkey and mash potatoes! It's a beautiful site, with beautiful colors of green, red and blue. I'll be shooting the Courthouse and other beautiful Christmas scenes downtown either tonight or tomorrow night. As far as other shoots hopefully i'll have more spontaneous shoots tonight or tomorrow night also!

Moving....
Well I'll be moving pretty soon here with Gabby hopefully in an apartment we found downtown that's close to my school and has a balcony! We've submitted our applications and other renting papers and hopefully we'll be accepted! It also has a fireplace, so in the winter we can cozy up next to the burning fire! I will let you know soon if we get the place, or any other place and i'll be taking pics too!
